The current officer roster — Trio, appointed officers, division directors, and area directors — is on the Leadership page, which pulls live from the District 84 officer database. What's there is always current; this page is for context.
What the trio does
- District Director (DD) — elected; the head of the District. Sets the year's tone, chairs the DEC, represents D84 at Toastmasters International events, and is responsible for overall District performance against the Distinguished District goals.
- Program Quality Director (PQD) — appointed; runs the education program. TLI scheduling, Pathways pushes, contests, conference, education sessions, Moments of Truth — anything where the answer is "improve how members and clubs learn."
- Club Growth Director (CGD) — appointed; runs membership growth and new-club work. Chartering new clubs, retaining at-risk clubs, dues incentives, Membership Renewals — anything where the answer is "more members in more clubs."
Appointed officers (the rest of the DEC)
The District Director appoints a slate of officers and chairs each year. The roles vary slightly year to year, but the standard set includes:
- Operations roles: Public Relations Manager (PRM), Administration Manager (Secretary equivalent), Finance Manager (Treasurer equivalent), Logistics Manager.
- Program chairs: Education Chair, Pathways Chair, Trainers Academy Chair, Contest Chair, Conference Chair, Moments of Truth Chair, Ambassadors Chair.
- Growth chairs: Extension Chair, Coaches Chair, Renewals Chair, Speechcraft Chair, Youth Leadership Chair, Gavel Coordinator.
- Operations chairs: AV Chair, Credentials Chair, Parliamentarian, Audit Chair.
- Communications: Webmaster, Social Media Coordinator.
- Continuity: Immediate Past District Director.
Term length
All District-level roles run one program year (July 1 – June 30). The Trio cannot serve consecutive terms in the same role. Appointed roles can be re-appointed by the next year's incoming Trio at their discretion.
Division and area directors
Division Directors lead each of the six divisions; Area Directors lead each of the 35 areas. Both are appointed/elected via the District Leader Candidates process — see District Leader Candidates for how that works. The current holders are listed on the Leadership page alongside the District officers.
Email contacts
Standard format for D84 officer email is {role}@district84.org (for example, [email protected] for the District Director, [email protected] for the Program Quality Director). The Leadership page renders each officer's current email next to their role.
